Autogas is a clean-burning fuel listed in the Clean Air Act (1990) and the Energy Policy Act (1992). Autogas vehicles run significantly cleaner than gasoline vehicles, making propane autogas an ideal fuel to help organizations meet stringent state and municipal environmental regulations.
Autogas vehicles emit fewer harmful emissions than gasoline vehicles, including:
- 20 percent reduction in carbon monoxide
- 40 percent less nitrogen oxides
- 10 to 18 percent reduction in carbon dioxide
Autogas has one of the lowest on-site emissions rates of any major energy source, and it produces significantly lower emissions than gasoline, diesel and electricity on a per-Btu basis.
With an increasing emphasis on environmental responsibility nationwide, autogas fleets also benefit from green branding opportunities. These advantages include increased media coverage, differentiation from competitors, and stronger customer loyalty.
