U.S. Autogas ConsumptionMore than 90 percent of our nation′s propane autogas supply is produced in the United States, with another 7 percent coming from Canada. This means that fleets that run on propane autogas are helping to create American jobs and foster a green economy.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, in 2009, net imports of crude oil and petroleum production accounted for 51 percent of total U.S. petroleum consumption, and of that, 41 percent came from OPEC countries.

Autogas, a by-product of both natural gas processing and crude oil refining, is available now to reduce foreign oil consumption and diversify the U.S. energy portfolio. As a domestically produced fuel − coupled with its environmental benefits and lower price per gallon than gasoline and diesel − autogas is an ideal fuel for fleet vehicles.
